An Infrared capture of the historic coal town of Thurmond, WV
Thurmond WV, is a ghost town that was once a major rail line for the Eastern US.
Today much of the area is protected by the New River Gorge National River, and the Depot has been restored. The Depot is now filled with exhibits from Thurmond's hey day when coal, and railroading was a large part of Southern West Virginia.
About Mary Almond
As a young child I went around saying, "See" When I was older, I would say, "Look" And when words failed to describe what I was seeing, I found art, and was finally able to share how I see the world.
